OPC Health have been servicing the Health Industry since 1985 as a national manufacturer and distributor of Prosthetic and Orthotic products, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Podiatry products, Electric Physiotherapy and Chiropractic couches, and electrotherapy and diagnostic Ultrasound equipment.  With a national corporate office and distribution centre in Melbourne, the business also has sales offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

The Brief

  • Build an online store to display the OPC product range

  • Integrate the site with Arrow Financials through LiveCube

  • Include LiveCube content management system to control website content

  • Allow for purchasing by both retail and wholesale customers

  • Provide Quick Order functionality

  • All payments go through Westpac Payment gateway

  • Link with Constant Contacts for email marketing opportunities


The Method

Strategic Plan: The key driving point for OPC Health’s new website was creating an online store to allow their customers easier access to their products.  OPC also required that the website be integrated with their Arrow Financial package to allow for streamlining of the business processes relating to stock levels, pricing, and dealers.

Web Design & Development: Given the large and diverse nature of products offered by OPC, focus was placed on designing the site to follow the logical navigation by users.  Promotional specials and important information were highlighted at the top of the page as a clear call to action.  Special attention was paid to the layout of the products within the site as each different type of product had different information to display.  For purchasing, it also needed to be easy for users to select their preferred colour, size and type (where applicable).

LiveCube Content Management System (CMS): A custom LiveCube CMS was created to allow OPC Health staff to control their entire website from anywhere in the world.  The CMS not only controls all of the products and their associated details, but it also allows the website administrator to group products together by colour, size and type.  The sizes and types were particularly diverse, given the large range of different products on offer through the website.  The CMS also allows for regular News items to be posted, as well as the updating of all promotional banners throughout the site:

The Result

By integrating the OPC website with their Arrow financial package, they have allowed their customers receive complete and accurate information from the website each time they visit and place an order.  The automated back of house systems allow the OPC team to have confidence that the pricing and stock levels from the online side of the business are accurate and peace of mind that orders are dispatched to the customer with minimal work required. Overall, this online solution has been completely customised to suit the individual needs of OPC and has streamlined many of their internal processes, whilst presenting their customers with a professional and easy-to-use website.
